We know, this film comes with a hefty price tag. But on request of many of you we imported a very small batch of Superia Premium 400 triple packs so you can try out this unique 35mm color film.
As the name first suggested Superia Premium looks like a Japanse version of the Superia X-tra 400 we all know over here in Europe. However, this is not the case as it definitely concerns a different film emulsion which is manufactured by using the same emulsion technology of other Superia color films from Fujifilm.
Superia Premium is somewhat an outsider in the Fuji range of color films as it features warmer Kodakish colors. The green and blue tones are less pronounced in this film, as we are usually used to from Fuji films. The film's characteristics are more similar to the warm tones of Kodak UltraMax but less yellowish and more vibrant than Kodak Pro Image. Red tones in particular are a lot more lively compared to Superia X-tra 400. Its unique color palette makes this film ideal for portraits and street photography on sunny days.
The film has a nominal film speed of ISO 400 and has a finer grain structure than Superia X-tra 400 or Kodak UltraMax but not as fine as Kodak Portra 400 or Fuji PRO 400H.
