Write first reviewFOMAPAN R is a panchromatic sensitized black-and-white reversal film intended for making black-and-white slides. This unique film can be an alternative to the Adox (Agfa) Scala black-and-white reversal film. Foma has even developed its own development kit that is fully tuned to the R100 so that the development of this special film can proceed without too many problems. This kit is available separately.
The shape of the characteristic curve makes it immediately clear that the R100 is characterized by very good differentiation of fine gray shades both in highlight and shadow areas. The spectral sensitization of FOMAPAN R is designed in such way to truly transfer color tones into gray scale tones when exposing the film in normal daylight and at the same time make full use of the film speed when exposed in artificial light.
Due to a very efficient anti-halo layer situated between the film base and the emulsion layers, the film features a very good resolving power and high contour sharpness. Please note that the anti-halo layer will decolorize during processing, which is normal.
The film has a nominal speed of ISO 100/21° when processed in the dedicated Foma R100 development process. Other processes can cause deviations from the nominal film speed. It is therefore recommended to verify the real film speed by doing preliminary tests in such cases.
