Colloida C is a highly-purified, chemically inactive coating gelatine (supercoating) for photographic purposes that can be used in normal daylight. About 40 to 80 grams of the substance must be mixed in one liter of water at 40 °C and this until it is completely dissolved. It can then be used as a base coating on highly absorbent surfaces to minimize the amount of photo emulsion used.
The gelatine can also be used to improve the glossiness of fiber-based photographic paper when using a dry air print dryer.
