The Stearman Press SP-810 8x10" Daylight Processing Tray is a simple and effective solution for developing sheet film up to size 8x10" and allows the photographer to bring large format sheet development out of the darkroom.
The tray is easily loaded in a changing bag (standard size not suitable) or more conveniently in a dark room. The product is designed is such way that the tray can be loaded without any difficulties. There are no frames nor holders to fumble with in the dark. Just take the lid off and drop in your film. No seals, rings or complicated mechanical contraptions. When the lid is secured onto the tray, it can be brought out into the light and the processing can start.
With included dividers and tabs, the processor can be configured for the developing of 4x5", 4x10", 5x7" and in particular 8x10" sheet film. The SP-810 is very economical, as it uses only 500ml of chemicals. Unit is supplied with Hold-Down Tabs that keep the film from floating out of the chemicals. Agitation can be achieved by tilting the unit. The tray bottom is designed with 4 separate fingertip indents for easy removal when processing is complete.
Please note pre-wetting your film in the tray is strongly advised, as it will flatten your film to prepare for proper processing.
